Eureka Forbes water softener complaintThe ₹30,000
Plot twist.
I bought a water softener. Not a subscription to expensive repairs.

Your friend until the vessel cracks.
I paid over ₹1.2 lakh for a Eureka Forbes Aquaguard water softener. The vessel has cracked, water is leaking, and I have been quoted approximately ₹30,000 for a replacement. I don't want to pay again. I want my money back.
Hard water was the problem. Now the softener is.
02The economics of a Eureka Forbes water softener
A premium product. An increasingly premium relationship.
What I paid Eureka Forbes for the Aquaguard water softener.
Approx. Quoted cost to replace the cracked vessel.
Approximate replacement cost against a ₹1.2 lakh benchmark. The purchase was over ₹1.2 lakh, so the real figure is slightly below 25%.
Apparently, the purchase price was only the beginning of the relationship.
Over ₹1.2 lakh to buy it. Approximately ₹30,000 to replace the failed vessel. What exactly did I think I was buying from Eureka Forbes, peace of mind?

06The questions for Eureka Forbes
Five questions. One very expensive plot twist.
Q1A premium product should last. Shouldn't it?
A critical vessel has cracked and started leaking. This is not the experience I expected from a Eureka Forbes product costing over ₹1.2 lakh.
Q2If this is unusual, why am I left carrying the cost?
Your sales representative said this kind of failure does not normally happen. Friends for life don't hand each other a ₹30,000 bill for the unusual stuff. I expect Eureka Forbes to take ownership of resolving this exceptional situation.
Q3Is this what premium after-sales service looks like?
A ₹30,000 replacement quotation is not the customer experience I expected after investing over ₹1.2 lakh.
Q4Why should I pay ₹30,000 to try again?
A new vessel costs approximately ₹30,000 and gives me no reason to expect a different experience. I would rather Eureka Forbes take the unit back and refund what I paid.
Q5Where is my friend for life?
I am asking Eureka Forbes to refund my money and remove the unit, not to send me another bill.
I bought a water softener. I did not sign up for a recurring vessel-replacement subscription.
07The Aquaguard warranty
The warranty has expired. The questions haven't.
Warranty expiry12 January 2026
I acknowledge that the warranty on my Eureka Forbes water softener expired on 12 January 2026. I am not pretending otherwise. But a warranty expiry date does not make this experience any less disappointing, nor does it prevent Eureka Forbes from choosing to resolve an unusual product failure fairly.
I am asking Eureka Forbes to take the unit back and refund the purchase price as a goodwill resolution. I expect a premium brand to stand behind the customer experience, even when the simplest response is to point at an expiry date.
“The warranty may have an expiry date. Goodwill doesn't have to.”
A friend for life, it turns out, has a warranty period.

09The demand to Eureka Forbes
I'm not asking for another quotation. I'm asking for my money back.
Refund it.Take it back.
I paid over ₹1.2 lakh for a premium Eureka Forbes water softener. The vessel has cracked, water is leaking, and I have been quoted approximately ₹30,000 for a replacement. I acknowledge that the warranty expired, but I am not willing to pay again to keep a product that failed like this. I am asking Eureka Forbes to take the unit back and refund the purchase price as a goodwill resolution.
- Refund the full purchase price of the water softener.
- Uninstall and remove the unit from my home at no cost to me.
- Do not ask me to pay approximately ₹30,000 for a replacement vessel.
- Respond to complaint CM-091026-79832696 with a clear resolution.
I bought a water softener, not a recurring expense disguised as peace of mind.
Eureka Forbes, you said friend for life. Please do the right thing.
